PhD position in Experimental Physics of 2D materials at Lund University
The Quantum Topoelectronics research group at Lund University is seeking a PhD student to develop graphene-based quantum devices for the investigation and control of anyonic excitations.
The project aims to fabricate arrays of quantum Hall devices, characterize their anyonic excitations, and explore their operation as qubits. It combines fundamental quantum physics with the development of new nanoelectronic and quantum technologies.
Research activities
• Fabrication of ultrahigh-quality van der Waals heterostructures.
• Nanofabrication of graphene-based quantum devices in Lund Nano Lab.
• Low-temperature electronic-transport measurements.
• High-frequency characterization.
The research will use a dilution refrigerator operating below 10 mK and equipped with a 14 T magnet, DC measurement lines, and microwave-frequency instrumentation.
Applicants should have a background in physics, engineering physics, nanoscience, or a related discipline and a strong interest in quantum devices and experimental physics. Experience in nanofabrication, electrical measurements, cryogenics, microwave techniques, or van der Waals assembly is advantageous.
