4-Year Postdoc Position in Quantum Foundations at IFT-UNESP, São Paulo, Brazil
The newly formed research group led by Alexandre Orthey at the Instituto de Física Teórica (IFT-UNESP) in São Paulo, Brazil, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for a four-year position. This position is funded by a 5-year FAPESP Young Investigator Grant and focuses on the foundational aspects of quantum mechanics.
🎯 The Project
The researcher will contribute to the project “Quantum Resources and Applications in Extended Wigner’s Friend Scenarios,” investigating the characterization and utility of quantum resources within these specific frameworks.
💵 What we offer
– Duration: 4 years.
– Salary: 12,570 BRL per month (tax-free), plus a 10% research overhead.
– Relocation allowance: Moving cost allowance and flight tickets for the researcher and dependents.
– Maternity/paternity leave.
– INSS (social security) reimbursement.
– Opportunity to apply for an extra 1-year fully funded research internship outside of Brazil (BEPE).
✅ Requirements
– PhD in physics or a related field completed within the last 7 years.
– Research background and publication record in Quantum Information or Quantum Foundations.
– Fluency in English and a commitment to full-time research.
