Happy #WorldQuantumDay 2023! Join LeVar Burton on a journey through quantum science and engineering in the 21st century. The video gives an introductory snapshot of quantum + space, including the Cold Atom Lab, as well as future possible applications in quantum computing, sensing, and networking. NASA Astronaut Josh Cassada, Olivia Lanes (IBM), Wesley Sims (Morehouse College), Jade LeSchack (UMD/JQI/QuICS), and Elisa Torres Durney (Girls in Quantum) answer questions like "What do people do who are working and studying quantum?" and "What does quantum have to do with space?" and also "What is quantum information?" Speakers also share some words of wisdom for students wanting to get into quantum. To make this video we gathered questions from teachers and students and sent the most common ones to experts in the field and students studying quantum science. We will share the full set of interviews as deep dives into quantum later in 2023. #quantum #quantumcomputing #quantumphysics #quantumnetworks #quantumsensing #science #STEM The video was created as part of the National Q-12 Education Partnership and is intended for K-12 audiences and non-experts. It builds on last year’s overview video “This is Quantum”    • This is Quantum  . The National Q-12 Education Partnership is partially supported by NSF award number 2039745. It is facilitated by the National Quantum Coordination Office and NSF.
