Boris Tsirelson, the Russian-Israeli mathematician who pioneered research in quantum nonlocality, passed away in January, 2020. Among his contributions to quantum information theory stand out the characterization of quantum XOR games, the discovery of self-testing and, of course, the famous Tsirelson bound.
To honor Tsirelson’s legacy, the Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) Vienna is organizing the one-week workshop on quantum nonlocality Tsirelson 2SQRT2.
