Staff Researcher in Quantum Artificial Intelligence with Neutral Atom Arrays at U Sherbrooke
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will conduct literature reviews, define and manage research projects in collaboration with our external partner PASQAL, and contribute to scientific publications and presentations. Responsibilities include supervising students, leading reading groups, and maintaining updated resources on key researchers and journals in the field.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct rigorous technology watch by reviewing literature daily
• Define projects and deliverables with the external partner (PASQAL)
• Execute and manage projects and deliverables for the external partner
• Assist in supervising students or interns in the specialized subgroup
• Assist in writing scientific articles and publications
• Present project results at conferences and scientific events
• Attend periodic meetings with the external partner to share progress and confirm or adjust quarterly objectives
• Lead weekly reading group meetings on relevant literature and reference works
• Identify and maintain an updated inventory of key researchers and groups in the field internationally
• Identify and maintain an updated list of relevant journals
• Maintain updated lists of key researchers, groups, and journals in the field
Qualifications
• PhD in theoretical quantum physics, quantum information, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of research experience in quantum computing and quantum information
• Experience managing deliverables for an external partner in the quantum domain
Preferred Assets
• Knowledge of neutral-atom quantum computing principles
• Familiarity with software development tools
• Strong background in software engineering and scientific computing

Work Environment
You will join a dynamic team of 17 students and researchers within the Faculty of Science at Université de Sherbrooke. The Institut quantique is a world-class hub with over 30 research groups, 40 technical staff, and a thriving community of 250+ students and postdocs.
Employment Conditions
• One-year contract, renewable annually based on funding
• Salary according to the collective agreement in effect
