Insider Brief Numana announces the launch of a multi-purpose testbed for quantum-safe communications in Quebec. The project aims to to provide the necessary infrastructure to test emerging quantum-communications technologies and become a future nationwide quantum […]
Insider Brief King’s College London and Kvantify announced a strategic partnership. The teams will explore novel methods to integrate classical and quantum computing tools in drug discovery for neurological conditions. As part of the initiative, […]
When Alexei Efros moved with his family from Russia to California as a teenager in the 1980s, he brought his Soviet-built personal computer, an Elektronika BK-0010. The machine had no external storage and overheated every […]
Insider Brief IonQ announced that Dr. Chris Monroe will be leaving the company. Monroe served as the firm’s co-founder and chief science officer. He will be returning to his academic, research and policy pursuits. PRESS […]
Insider Brief Quandela delivered its first quantum computer, MosaiQ, to one of OVHcloud datacenters. OVHcloud becomes the first European cloud services provider to own a quantum system based on photonic processors. Three additional machines are […]
Quantum 7, 1154 (2023). https://doi.org/10.22331/q-2023-10-24-1154 We reduce the extra qubits needed for two fault-tolerant quantum computing protocols: error correction, specifically syndrome bit measurement, and cat state preparation. For distance-three fault-tolerant syndrome extraction, we show an […]
Quantum 7, 1153 (2023). https://doi.org/10.22331/q-2023-10-24-1153 The promise of high-rate low-density parity check (LDPC) codes to substantially reduce the overhead of fault-tolerant quantum computation depends on constructing efficient, fault-tolerant implementations of logical gates on such codes. […]
Quantum 7, 1152 (2023). https://doi.org/10.22331/q-2023-10-24-1152 We introduce a semidefinite programming algorithm to find the minimal quantum Fisher information compatible with an arbitrary dataset of mean values. This certification task allows one to quantify the resource […]
Quantum 7, 1151 (2023). https://doi.org/10.22331/q-2023-10-24-1151 Spiking neural network is a kind of neuromorphic computing that is believed to improve the level of intelligence and provide advantages for quantum computing. In this work, we address this […]
Insider Brief Atom Computing’s next-generation quantum computing platform will feature a 1,225-site atomic array and populated with 1,180 qubits. This is the first time a company has crossed the 1,000-qubit threshold for a universal gate-based […]
