A new step toward semiconductor spintronic
A team of researchers from Sweden, Finland and Japan has developed an opto-spintronic nanostructure – made of quantum dots – which allows the generation of conduction electron spin polarization exceeding 90% at room temperature without magnetic field and remains at a high level even up to 110 °C.
This device allows the exchange of information between electron spin states and a photons and pave the way for quantum computers where spin is used to encode, write and remote information.
