Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Edutecnicia Pvt Ltd, working through its AI research initiative REYRA AI, to build collaborative research, training, and innovation programs around quantum computing, quantum artificial intelligence, and quantum-inspired AI, Daijiworld reported.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Aswini Dutt R, registrar of Yenepoya, along with Muhammed Raees PC, founder and CEO of REYRA AI, and Dr. Bishrul Hafi, co-founder and CIO of REYRA AI.

A central piece of the partnership is the creation of a Quantum AI Catalyst Lab, positioned as a shared space for research, innovation, and technology development, the source reported. The lab is intended to support joint research projects, the development of quantum-inspired AI hardware accelerators, proof-of-concept work, expert-led training, faculty development, student skill-building, and industry-focused projects.

Certification Programme

As the partnership’s first major initiative, Yenepoya will launch a certification programme in quantum computing and quantum AI at its School of Engineering and Technology in Mangaluru, offering undergraduate students, faculty, and researchers structured, hands-on training in the field.

The programme will be led by a trainer certified by IIT Delhi in quantum computing and machine learning, who also serves as CTO of Edutecnicia and REYRA AI. The outlet described the trainer as an AI researcher with experience spanning artificial intelligence, edge AI, AI hardware, embedded systems, FPGA-based deep learning accelerators, robotics, and quantum machine learning.

Scope of Collaboration

Beyond the lab and certification programme, the MoU will support joint research and publications, additional training programmes, expert lectures, and research mentorship. The partnership will also include consultancy work, technology demonstrations, and interdisciplinary projects across Yenepoya University, including its School of Engineering and Technology.

The two sides will also explore applications for quantum AI and quantum-inspired AI in areas such as healthcare, medical imaging, intelligent computing (Quantum AI), and optimisation.

Daijiworld reported that university officials framed the collaboration as a step toward strengthening ties between industry and academia and advancing work in emerging technologies, with the goal of giving students, faculty, and researchers more opportunities to engage with frontier research areas.
