PhD position in quantum information and quantum communication theory at Télécom SudParis, Institut Polytechnique de Paris
We are recruiting a PhD student to work on quantum information theory and quantum communication theory in the research group of Michael G. Jabbour at Télécom SudParis, Institut Polytechnique de Paris.
The successful candidate will contribute to research on:
- the characterisation of non-Gaussian bosonic systems;
- the development of methods for computing the capacities of quantum channels;
- proving entropy inequalities for bosonic systems;
- proving continuity bounds for quantum entropies.
The position is fully funded for three years through a Jeunes Chercheuses et Jeunes Chercheurs (JCJC) grant from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR).
Télécom SudParis is a member of Institut Polytechnique de Paris, one of France’s leading research universities. The successful candidate will join the quantum information theory research activities at Télécom SudParis and benefit from collaborations within Institut Polytechnique de Paris and with leading international researchers.
Candidate profile
The successful candidate must hold (or expect to obtain before the start of the position) a Master’s degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, or a closely related field.
Prior knowledge of quantum information theory or bosonic quantum systems is welcome but not required.
