Autumn 2026 Call for thesis – Quantum Sciences & Techologies, and related fields – Grenoble, France
We are pleased to announce the opening of the Autumn 2026 PhD call of the QuanG2 programme, an international doctoral programme in quantum sciences, quantum technologies, and interdisciplinary quantum-related fields.
1. PhD topics & funding
The call features more than 30 advertised PhD research topics.
Each candidate may apply to a maximum of five (5) PhD topics, which must be ranked in order of preference at the time of application.
Each fellowship is awarded for a duration of three (3) years. In addition, each PhD fellow benefits from a dedicated research environment budget of up to €10,000, which can be used to support:
- secondments (academic or non-academic),
- conference participation and research missions,
- the purchase of research equipment.
2. Eligibility criteria
The QuanG2 call is open to all eligible candidates who:
- hold (or will obtain before 7 September 2026) a Master’s degree (or equivalent),
- comply with the MSCA mobility rule
- (Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in France for more than 12 months between 7 September 2023 and 7 September 2026),
- must not already hold a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) at the time of recruitment
- must not be employed by one of the hosting laboratories.
3. Timeline
- Call opens: 8 June 2026
- Application deadline: 7 September 2026 at 12:00 (Paris time)

5. About QuanG2
QuanG2 is coordinated in Grenoble (France) and supported by the European Commission under the MSCA COFUND scheme, and co-financed by national programmes such as QuanTEdu-France (France 2030) and LabEx QuantAlps (IDEX).
QuanG2 aims to recruit and train 28 PhD fellows in the field of quantum sciences and technologies and related interdisciplinary areas.
