Postdoc in Quantum Information and Thermodynamics, Charles University, Prague
The Postdoctoral position is available in the Quantum Information and Thermodynamics group led by Dominik Šafránek at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, in the general areas of Quantum Information and Quantum Thermodynamics. Possible research topics include, but are not limited to, quantum tomography, the theory of retrodiction, quantum Bayes’ theorem, entropy fluctuations and their relation to chaos, many-body quantum systems, thermalization, work extraction, and the energetics of quantum control.
Applicants should demonstrate either strong analytical skills or strong programming skills (experience with any combination of Mathematica, Python, Julia, and Qiskit is especially welcome), as well as experience in Quantum Information or related fields. A creative mindset, the ability to work both independently and within a team, and interest in or knowledge of experimental platforms (such as trapped ions, photonic systems, etc.) are considered a plus.

Salary: 70,000–75,000 CZK per month before tax, depending on experience and seniority, plus an annual travel budget of approximately 5,000 EUR. This corresponds to roughly 34% above the average Czech salary and provides a comfortable standard of living in Prague.
