We’re looking for a doctoral candidate to join the Quantum Quick Route (QQR) project, funded by NSERC in partnership with Pasqal, a world leader in neutral-atom quantum computing.
🎯 The mission: develop novel hybrid quantum/classical algorithms to tackle industrial combinatorial optimization problems (VRP, TSP) on real quantum hardware.
💼 What we offer:
– $32,000/year for 3 years
– Access to the Institut Quantique at Université de Sherbrooke
– Direct collaboration with a cutting-edge industry partner
👤 Candidate profile:
– Master’s degree in physics, engineering, math, or computer science
– Strong interest in optimization, quantum computing, and Python
– Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with industry partners
– Strong scientific communication skills (French and/or English)
– Research experience with publications and/or conference presentations
Applications from all qualified individuals are welcome, especially those from underrepresented groups.
📅 Start date: Flexible – ideally Fall 2026.
