3-year Post-doc at University of Manchester

We are writing to advertise a 3-year post-doctoral position at the University of Manchester.

The position is funded by a Leverhulme Trust Research Grant entitled “Geometry of Higher-Order Quantum Operations and Implications for Causality.” The project lies at the intersection of quantum foundations, information geometry, and random matrix theory. It aims to address fundamental questions concerning the structure of higher-order quantum operations, including quantum combs / process tensors and processes with indefinite causal order.

The position is expected to begin on 1 October 2026 (with some flexibility). The successful candidate will work closely with PIs Philip Taranto and Harry Miller.
