PRESS RELEASE — Vegacomp Consulting, a Romanian provider of consultancy, training and integrated services for telecommunications, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with QURECA, the global leader in quantum technologies training and education.

The collaboration aims to accelerate the development of quantum skills, education, and practical applications in Romania, supporting the country’s transition into the era of quantum technologies.

Romania Enters the Quantum Era

Quantum technologies are no longer confined to research laboratories. They are rapidly becoming an essential part of the strategic infrastructure for digital security and the future of the internet.

Romania is already taking significant steps in this direction. Through the RoNaQCI project, approximately 1800 km of quantum communication infrastructure has been deployed over existing fibre optic networks, connecting six major academic centres: Bucharest, Constanța, Iași, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, and Craiova.

This infrastructure provides the foundation for moving from theoretical exploration to real-world applications, particularly in:

• Cybersecurity and secure communications,
• Quantum computing,
• The future quantum internet.

Expanding Access to Quantum Education

Through this partnership, Vegacomp Consulting and QURECA will provide:

• Access to over 40 courses in quantum technologies,
• Training programmes for high school students, university students, and professionals,
• Customised training solutions for companies and organisations,
• Access to an international quantum learning platform,

Some of these courses are free of charge, while others are tailored to meet the specific needs of organisations seeking to understand and adopt quantum technologies.

From Education to Implementation: Building Quantum-Ready Infrastructure

Beyond education, Vegacomp Consulting is actively contributing to the deployment of quantum-ready solutions through its Quantum Communications division, launched in 2025.

The division provides:

• Educational kits for quantum communications,
• QKD (Quantum Key Distribution) equipment for building quantum-safe networks,
• Support for Romanian organisations transitioning to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), in partnership with Black Bullet.
