[QOART online seminar] Classical and quantum random walks
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the next online seminar on QOART (Quantum optics and related topics)!
Title of the talk: Classical and quantum random walks
Speaker: Stanislav V. Grishin
Abstract:
The author will present his candidate thesis on random walks. The talk will consist of two parts, more precisely, classical and quantum ones. Classical part will deal with the problem of positive semi-axis first passage time in the process of homogenous discrete random walk on 1-dimensional lattice. The generating function of explored variable turns out to be algebraic, and its geometric properties will be discussed. Quantum part will be devoted to information-theoretical aspect of quantum channels connected with elementary quantum random walk in open systems. Different capacities such as classical, entanglement-assistant and quantum ones, will be evaluated for such channels.
Date and time: 12-Mar-2026 at 4:00pm Moscow time
Duration: 30-90 mins
Language: The talk will be delivered in English
