Workshop “When quantum field theory meets quantum information”
We are pleased to announce the workshop “When quantum field theory meets quantum information”, which will be hosted by the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid during December 15-17, 2025.
The aim of this workshop is to contribute to the understanding of key tools in quantum information – such as entanglement – within the framework of relativistic quantum field theory (QFT). While quantum information typically involves finite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, QFT and related approaches to quantum gravity, must deal with systems featuring infinitely many degrees of freedom, posing additional conceptual and technical challenges, while at the same time offering potentially new and interesting features. The workshop will bring together researchers from both fields to foster collaboration, extend quantum information tools to relativistic QFT, and explore new joint research directions.
Confirmed invited speakers:
– Matthias Kleinmann (Universität Siegen)
– Chiara Marletto (University of Oxford)
– Eduardo Martin-Martinez (Perimeter Institute)
– Miguel Navascues (IQOQI Vienna)
– Kasia Rejzner (university of York)
– Ko Sanders (Leibniz Universität Hannover)
We invite researchers working on quantum field theory, quantum information, and their interplay to contribute to the scientific program of the conference. Participants wishing to present their work are encouraged to submit an abstract using the form available at https://scala.uc3m.es/qft/
Important dates:
– October 31: deadline for abstract submission.
– November 15: notification of accepted talks.
– November 30: deadline for registration.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Madrid!
On behalf of the organizers:
