Post-doctoral/senior researcher positions in quantum algorithms at Quantum Research Center – TII, Abu Dhabi
The Quantum Algorithms Division at the Quantum Research Centre (QRC) of the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking highly talented and motivated post-doctoral or senior researchers to join the Quantum Enhanced Algorithms team, led by Dr. Thais de Lima Silva.
Our team focuses on developing resource-efficient quantum algorithms and extracting the most from the current and next-generation quantum devices. We are looking for candidates with expertise in any of the following areas: quantum computation and complexity theory, fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, NISQ algorithms, industry applications of quantum computing, numerical simulations of quantum devices, quantum error correction and mitigation, and quantum circuit deployment on quantum hardware. The candidate should hold a PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, or a related field, and demonstrate a strong interest in collaborating on both theory development and practical numerical implementations of quantum algorithms. Fluent interaction with other researchers from the Quantum Algorithms and in-house Experimental Quantum Computing Hardware Divisions is expected, as well as with external quantum hardware platforms via the cloud.
Potential research topics include:
• Quantum signal processing and quantum singular-value transformation
• Classical data encoding into quantum states
• Quantum algorithms for combinatorial optimizations
• Effective logical noise models
• Quantum algorithms for quantum Chemistry and Material Science
• Analog and digital quantum simulation
• Randomized quantum algorithms
• Physical implementations of block-encodings
The Quantum Algorithms Division is directed by Dr. Leandro Aolita. The Quantum Research Center (https://www.tii.ae/quantum) offers an ideal environment for quantum technology exploration, bringing together world-class specialists in quantum computation and information, quantum middleware, superconducting qubit experiments, and quantum-inspired algorithms, all within a vibrant and well-funded emerging ecosystem. Moreover, multiple collaborations with world-leading quantum hardware providers grant access to state-of-the-art quantum devices for algorithm testing and deployment. TII is a newly established, well-funded state initiative aiming to become a major international and diverse hub for R&D in science and technology (https://www.tii.ae/).
